November 22, 2016 – Minneapolis, MN – Jill J. Johnson, president and founder of Johnson Consulting Services, has been named to the Finance & Commerce newspaper’s Top Women in Finance Hall of Fame. In the 16-year history of this awards program, only one other woman has previously been selected as an honoree for this business Hall of Fame. Johnson is an award-winning management consultant specializing in strategy development and developing strategies for growth.

Finance & Commerce recognizes a select group of women each year who are making outstanding contributions in their financial and business professions and who are proven leaders in their communities throughout Minnesota. An outside panel of experts reviewed the nominations and selected the honorees.

The award winners in 2016 include chief executive officers, chief financial officers and other high-ranking executives as well as entrepreneurs, attorneys, CPAs and financial advisers. They work for financial institutions, for businesses, law firms and accounting firms, for government and for nonprofits.

A magazine profiling the women was also published which featured Johnson’s photo on the cover.

“The women recognized by the Finance & Commerce awards are among the most accomplished and impactful executives in Minnesota,” said Johnson. “To be one of the few women to ever be named to their Hall of Fame is an extraordinary honor.”

This award is Johnson’s second business hall of fame distinction. In April of 2013, she became one of the first women ever inducted into the Minnesota Women Business Owners Hall of Fame.

The impact of Johnson’s management consulting work continues to grow and has increased to reach nearly $4 billion. This reflects an increase of more than $1 billion of business impact in just the last 3 years alone. All of the major clients Johnson has worked with in the last 3 years have retained her for further assistance beyond the initial engagement.

In early 2016, Johnson was named the Board Chair for the Homes for Heroes Foundation board of directors – an organization dedicated to providing financial assistance and housing resources to our nation’s heroes who are in dire need of support. These heroes include military personnel, police/peace officers and first responders.

In 2016, Johnson also received the first-ever Mentor of the Year Award from the Women’s Health Leadership Trust, a professional network of executive women in health care. She was honored for her impact on the professional development and career trajectory of others.
